Martin Kelly

IBM Venture Capital Group – Partner IBM

Martin is the partner responsible for establishing IBM Venture Capital Group in EMEA since 2007. In this role Martin identifies and manages IBM engagement with VCs and entrepreneur communities.

During this time he co-led the development of IBM SmartCamp including the worldwide rollout and the development of over 20 ‘cities. In addition, Martin helped found healthXL.org – the first global accelerator focused on digital health.

Martin has previously led business development in some of IBM public sector and healthcare markets. He has worked in the industry for 20+ years in a variety of technical, project management and business development roles for firms including PWC Consulting, Masterfoods Europe, H.J.Heinz UK and Bank of Ireland.

In addition to IBM activities Martin is an advisory board member of Innovation Fund Ireland. He is Startupbootcamp mentor and actively engaged with Science Gallery and Sandbox Network. Martin was voted Global Corporate Venturing Personality of the Year in 2012 (on behalf of the IBM team).
